I am trying to help my mother. I just installed XP on her
computer, but she was used to Windows98. She is trying to
get a thumbnail view for her folders that she says was
available with 98 that is not available now. We can get
thumbnails, but she seems to remember having thumbnails
with details (or details with thumbnails depending on how
you look at it). She wants to have type, size, and date
with the thumbnail image of the picture (such as .jpg). Is
this possible with XP?

Thanks!

Go to Folder Options, View - then scroll down to "Hide Extensions for Known
File types"
Uncheck the option.

This option was already unchecked and seems to have
no effect. Any other ideas?
