After reading Mike's comments and finding answers you can try a Restore
of your system that may bring back your files and the media player. You may
have picked up some malware/spyware while surfing the web. You can
restore your system up to 90 days back. Pick a bold date to before the
problem started.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
