Different default printers

Is it possible in Windows XP Professional to set more than one default
printer based on the program being printed from? For instance, I have a user
that prints to one printer for all documents except her Word documents, which
she prints to a separate printer. She would like to know if it's possible to
either set a printer to always print Word documents submitted for printing,
or if Word has the ability to default to a printer other than the Windows
default printer.
Any suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Somer

Only one Default printer, BUT Word will continue to use the last printer
that it printed to, as long as it remains open. In other words you may
pick a different printer in Word's print dialog, and it will continue to
print to that printer any other documents that you want. IF you close
and reopen Word, it will reset to the default printer. Now knowing this,
what you may do is start recording a Macro and name it "Auto_Open", in
it set the current printer to the desired one, then close the print
dialog, and stop the macro. Now when Word is opened the desired printer
will be set to the selected printer.

"Default" MEANS "Default", doofus.

There can be ONLY ONE "Default".

No, not unless the applications in question have the capability; WinXP
certainly doesn't.

I have a HP C5180 and a HP 2400 series. I set the default printer to the
C5180 and the next day it is back to the HP 2400 series. I only use the 2400
series occassionally and have no idea why the default printer keeps changing
to it. Does anyone have a solution?
