Differences in FrontPage 2003 and Expression Web

In FP2003, when I put a layer in, I could edit that layer (div) directly in
design mode, adding text, pictures, etc. But in Expression Web, all I get is
a blank area. In the code section, I can see the text, pictures, etc, but not
in the design area. Any help in this would be appreciated.

Or the code. If you are referring to Frontpage Draw, that might be the
problem - that code is not compliant code
