I have a software program and it will not install under the media edition but
the product support said it will install under XP Pro. So I need to know what
the differences are and if I can make it work somehow?

You say "it will not install under the media edition"...

Have you tried?
Or are you going by the fact the manufacturer of said software says it will
not work under Media Center Edition?

Media Center Edition is Windows XP Professional with a few 'network
features' disabled and the Media Center stuff added on.

What program?

What happens when you try? If you get an error message, please quote
it verbatim.

Then it should also install under MCE. Is it possible that the product
support info you are looking at was just written before MCE was
available?

There are essentially none, except that MCE has some extra features
not in Professional, and Professional has one feature (the ability to
join a domain) not in MCE.

I asked several specific questions. You didn't answer them. If you are
not willing to answer my questions, I am not willing to try to help.

Actually Ken, since you're a tech guy, what files are needed to make
XP-Pro....MCE? I've been wanting to purchase a tuner card for my desktop
and most I've run in to on EBAY say that you have to have MCE. So I've
passed thusfar. I run XP-PRO currently. Seems to me that with all my
"will" there ought to be a "way." Ya know?

Thanks
