Differences Between XP Home & Pro, "class installer".

I am running XP Home on my desktop and XP Pro on my Sony
notebook. I recently purchased a Business Card reader
from Newsoft, Micro3. I attempted to install application
and driver on my notebook. The application installed
sucessfully, however, the driver (which has not passed
Windows Logo testing), failed. The error message "There
was a problem installing driver, the CLASS INSTALLER has
denied installation".

On the other hand, I decided to try loading the same
driver on my desktop that is running XP Home. The
application and driver loaded successfully. The business
card reader works great, but I need this item to work on
my laptop.

Are there differences between XP Home and XP Pro when it
comes to installing a driver that has not passed Windows
Logo testing? Can I reconfigure the " class installer" in
Windows XP Pro to relax a little?

Please help, anyone.
