To very briefly summarize, Standard is for smaller networks while Advanced
Server is design for use by medium to large sized operations. Advanced has
support for 8 processors while Standard supports 4, 32 GB of RAM (Standard
supports 4GB), and clustering and can even run with 64-bit Itanium procs.
There are more differences also.
