Reason that I am asking:

Today my one colored screen, which was my favorite old plain windows green,
became white. Don't know the reason, I don't recall having changed anything
myself.

Then I tried to find the reason, and when I went back to the themes, etc., I
was able to get back the color but then I notice that the lettering and the
graphics is somwaht changed, maybe more modern or streamlined.

Has there been an update to Vista Ultimate, what I have, that is causing
this?

Just wonder.

You can check the installed updates in Control panel. It sounds like you're
set up to install updates automatically. You can change that to
automatically download upates, but allow you to make the decision about
installation.

It seems that I fixed everything except my aero Vista. Now the Aero Vista
does not work. How can I put it back?

Select the "Aero" enabled Display "quality."

Also, check to make sure you are using the correct video card drivers,
from the video card manufacturer. Sometimes, using the "default"
Microsoft included drivers will create these style problem.

Also, make sure that you have note selected any driver download from
Microsoft's web updates. These drivers can be old and limited.

I think that I fixed everything by now.
Nice graphics and colors in Vista, but hey, it is difficult to find
something when you want/need to.
God forbid that I make a mistake or do something that I by mistake change my
preferences.
Things are hidden in "super secret places"!
