System has been running great, XP home SP2, setting system restore points every 5 days using the
reg hack, then BLAM, after the last windows update they are all gone, nothing, nota. It looks like
with MS I must start backing up the backup. MS is getting almost as good as BUSH at screwing up.

Likely your reghack screwed with the restore point the windows update
attempted to create, and that flushed it. Try letting the regular daily
restore point creation routine work the way it was designed.

So you do a "reg hack" to mess with the way it's supposed to work, and then
when it doesn't work you blame MS?

If your system is "running great", what do you need old system restore
points for, anyway?

How do you set it up for an automatic daily restore point?

By default System Restore creates automatic restore points every 24 hours.
