For example: if you open My Pictures

On the bottom of the page you would see the amount of files in the
folder & how much space is taken up by theses files.

If you were to highlight say ten picutes you would be able to see the
total size of the ten files.

How do I get this feature back, I found it very handy?

In Windows Explorer go to View>Status Bar - then go to Tools>Folder
Options>View and click on 'Apply to All Folders'.
