I've created a project 9:25 long and after saving it, (tried various formats)
the recorded piece is only 7:40, everything ends midway through a video clip.
I've made numerous other projects before all from files from the same source
with no trouble.

What can anyone suggest ? Where's the microsoft "Fix my probem" button ?

Apart from not being able to spell PROBLEM of course, DOH!

Have you made any changes to your pc? Such as updates, new apps, codecs
installed etc which may be interfering with MM? Have you tried system
restore to a point when it was working?

Thanks Graham but no changes had been made.

I solved my own problem by splitting up a number of intensively edited
sections into separate projects and then reimporting them as single clips
with effects included.

Its never occured before even with some quite effect heavy sections but
there you go we live and learn.
