How Did All of my Database Contacts Become vCards?

Running XP with SP3. I just tried to print out a mail list and labels using
Word 2002 and mail merge. Suddenly I can't edit my database because all of my
contacts have been converted to vCard format, whatever that is. Edit button
is disabled when database window 'select recipients' comes up. How did this
happen and how can I convert my contacts back to a format where my database
is editable? I do not use Outlook, just Yahoo mail. Please don't say, 'create
a new database'. I'm talking 302 names and addresses!

were the contacts saved in an access database, or as a word document?

vCard is a file format standard for electronic business cards. vCards are
often attached to e-mail messages, but can be exchanged in other ways, such
as on the World Wide Web. They can contain name and address information,
phone numbers, URLs, logos, photographs, and even audio clips.

try this converter see if it's what you need.

it's supposed to convert vcard format file to whatever format you need ie word

if this used to be a word doc, then it's not a dabase per se, just a word doc.
it helps others to throughly understand what your issues are, if you use
correct terminology.

A database is info stored using access or some other Actual database
application.
