Hello,
I've been having this problem for almost a month now and
its really irritating.
Almost everytime I start my computer and start a dialup
connection, the moment the connection is initiated and im
online the computer sort of freezes, i cannot open any
application or folder, but windows is still running, I
mean if any file or any music was running before my
connection starts it will keep running but nothing else
can start.

Usually I unplug my phone line and after a few minutes
the computer disconnects and I get to reconnect again
normally, or I hit the reset button to restart it since
nothing else would.

Is there a way to solve this please? and what could've
caused it?
Thank you.

I also have the same problem. I think this problem
started after I installed some patches from Windows
Update.

By the way, after 5 minutes of freezing, everything comes
back to be normal and steady. But, the freezing windows
still keep me frustrated all the time I make a dial-up
connection.

Exactly
when I downloaded some patches and updates from the
Microsoft Update this problem started.
Is there any solution for it?
