Data Transfer get slower
XP-PRO with SP2:If I dialup my ISP and connect at 46, my modem light flashes
uninterrupted when data is receiving, as well as the graph in
Taskmanager/Networking is showing 70 to 100%. This stays like this if I keep
using the Internet.

I have tried a lot of things, but just disconnecting and redialling solves
the problem. Then it's back to normal. I pay only once for a call, so
disconnecting/connecting is costing me unnecessary.

Note:If you don't have or look at your modem lights, you will not notice
this drop in transfer.

appears your modem is "locking" down to a stable line speed.
there should be override strings on the site for your
particular modem.
