Recently I had evaluate chinese-made terminal access device
(microstation), as the original application was in Chinese language,
and I asked for an English version.

To my horrors, after installing this english language version of the
3rd party terminal services, most of my dialog box had been
transformed to Chinese language.
Even after uninstalling the whole package, it remains in Chinese
language (just the dialog box).

I had changed all the settings in Regional Settings ("simplified
chinese is checked and grey-out"), and its seems the only possible way
is to re-install my OS to get the dialog box back to English.

Anyone know where are the language setting for dialog box for the
button "OK", "CANCEL", and "APPLY"?

MFC*.DLL? (i tried renamed all MFC.DLL to MFC*.OLD, doesn't help)

Is these settings in the registry? which key which settings?

I desperately seeking help!!!

The system affected are running Windows 2000 (workstation), and one
Windows 2003 Server.

Okay, I found that my System Setup Language had been changed, now it
is detected as non-English (chinese), probably the installation of the
malformed chinese application had changed my registry settings or some
system files.

I had spent almost 2 days scouring the google for solution, but had
not found any solution to my unique situation.

Anyone had any idea where is the default system language settings
stored?

It is definitely not in Regional Settings/Locale , I had played with
different settings and then reboot many many times..

Is there any utilities which i can tweak the language settings?

I really don't wish to re-install my WindowsXP..

Because of the language issue, my Search Companion stopped working, my
Windows Update able to get the files, but unable to apply due to
"different system language" detected..
