I have XP will all service packs. I am running on broadband but my old
dialup modem box keeps popping up wanting me to dial in to my old
service provider. When I cancel out of close the box and try to get on
the network, I get a message saying I am offline.

How do I disable the dial up without jeopardizing my broadband.

Thanks

Are you using Outlook Express?

Tools | Options | General. If My computer is not connected at this time - Do
not connect.

In IE: Tools | Internet Options | Connections. Check: Never dial a
connection.

Check your settings in these areas also, and make sure there is no
indication of using Dial-up.

Tools | Options | Connection.

Tools | Accounts | Mail & News | Properties | Connection.

Control Panel | Network Connections.

Control Panel>Internet Options>Connections tab. You will see your old dialup
provider listed in the box. Highlight it and choose "Remove".

We heard you when you asked this three minutes ago. You were even
answered.

Impatience is neither well regarded nor rewarded here.
