Hi,

I have found some strange appearance with XP pro SP2, Norton AV 2005.
intermitenetly my dial-up connection gets busy eventhough iam not doing
anything. auto update in windows and norton are disabled.

another problem, i have 2 pcs connected together(sharing) but while
accessing the other PC (from either side) the connection is very slow or
sometime the window is frozen. firewall is disabled and i have added the
local area network address range in exclusion internet worm protection
(general rules).
can anyone put some light in to it?

thanks & regards
james.

James,

What malware protection do you have, besides a disabled firewall, disabled auto
updates, and worm protection?

Your symptoms point to a malware problem. If you haven't already, start malware
diagnostics immediately.
