I currently have two home PCs running Windows XP
configured with Diamond Multimedia HomeFree Phoneline
networking. It provides a way to use home phoneline as
network interconnect. Limitation is 10 Mbps on data xfer
but system is very reliable and allows sharing of
printers, files and internet connection. There are some
nuances which can be worked out with experience. Also,
cost is very minimal considering only two PCI cards are
required. Be careful not to purchase any "combo" desk
kits having PCI/ISA card pair. These will not fit in most
generic PC housings. Suggest reviewing Home PNA website
at
http://www.homepna.org/about_tech/. Good luck
