I have been having problems with my modem continuously
dialling up to the net automatically. I have Internet
Connection Sharing enabled however I cant track down
which machine or application is causing the modem to dial-
up.

Any help or hints as to how I might go about identifying
the offending application would be most welcome.

I believe in the Connection Sharing dialogue you can disable other computers
from initiating a connection. As far as which app is causing the dialing,
you'll have to play detective.

Offending application? If you have automatic dialing enabled
it may be offending client computer.

Whenever an automatic dialing starts, you can view the output
of *netstat -an* for current connections to your computer.
This may help in finding the offending computer.

If there is something running locally, check the processes
in task manager.
