I recently uninstalled Earthlink dial-up ISP and the pop-up window that
reads "Dial-up Connection: Select the service you want to connect to,
and then enter your user name and password." opens by itself and will
not close during my computing session. How do I get rid of this window?

Disable AutoDial to Control Dial-up Connections Manually:

Though legitimate applications may start the automatic dialing, it's a good
idea to do a malware cleanup as well.
