Dial UP causes memory dump

I have a HP NC4000 notebook which has W2KP.

Using the Dial up and VPN causes a "blue screen" and
memory dump, forcing a re-boot of the computer. This
means that Dial up and VPN cannot be used. Standard
networking is OK.

Is this a known problem and is there a known fix for this?

If so where can this fix be found?

Steve
