I currently have MS Office Professional 2000 and Windows XP. My
understanding is that in Power Point I can create an organization chart if I
go to, insert - picture - org chart. However when I do this it says the
feature isn't installed so I click yes to install it and then an error
message comes up. I have the cd in the cd-rom. So I'm wondering where I
install this feature from.

What is the error message? Please give us the full text next time.

You can also close PowerPoint and then insert the installation CD. Locate and
run Setup.exe on the CD if it doesn't run automatically. Select "Add/Remove
Features".

From the list, go to the bottom and click on the "+" next to "Office Tools".
Locate Organization Chart and click on the icon to the left. Click on "Run
from My Computer" and then click on the "Update Now" button.

Now open PowerPoint and try to insert an Org Chart. Does that work?

That's the right way to go about it.

What does the error message say?

What I'd try is this:

Shut down PPT and all other programs.

Put the CD in the computer and let it autorun; if it doesn't autorun, open it
in Windows Explorer and doubleclick SETUP.EXE

Setup will detect that Office is already installed and give you several options
(wording varies by version, but they'll be along the lines of Add/Remove
Features, Repair, Uninstall). Choose the add/remove option. The Org Chart
option will be in the "Office Tools" or similarly-named area, I'm pretty sure.
Locate it, set it to "Run from my computer", then OK the install. Don't change
any other checkmarks.

If that doesn't fix it or if Setup things org chart is already installed, rerun
SETUP and choose the Repair option.

So logging in as admin enables PPT to self-repair and all's peachyswell now?
