Hi nkjg,
Sounds like the fans are being activated to cool
both your CPU and G(raphics)PU. Seems fine
to me, and perfectly normal. What do the folks
at the support desk for your laptop recommend?

| Hey everyone,
|
| I just noticed an interesting quirk when I installed and
| played DiabloII for the first time.
|
| I've got a Centrino laptop with the Pentium-M 1.4GHz
| processor. The processor can slow itself down to save
| power while running on batteries. Right now when I go
| into system properties, it says that the processor is
| running at 600 MHz. It's been running at this speed for
| the past while and I don't hear the fan that often when
| it's running at this speed since the processor isn't
| generating that much heat.
|
| When I open up DiabloII, the fan instantly turns on. It
| stays on during the entire time that I play the game. The
| moment I return to Windows (XP), the fan shuts off...
| DiabloII is a pretty old game and the required processor
| is 233 MHz Pentium (the original Pentium), so I don't
| think I'm pushing my system very hard here...
|
| Any ideas as to why this is?
|
| Thanks in advance.
|
| Nick
