I have three email accounts defined.
I want to set Outlook so that when Outlook starts or when I press
send/receive, only two of the accounts are accessed. But I want to
keep the details of the third account in case I decide to start
getting mail from it again.
How do I do this?

Depends on your version of Outlook, in Outlook 2007 define / modify your
send/receive group

While viewing the Inbox, press Alt-Ctrl-S. Select the Send/Receive group
(usually "All Accounts") and click Edit. Select the account you don't want
Outlook to monitor and uncheck "Include the selected account in this group".
