Hi,
I have a DSLconnection which is connected to a hub. My PC and laptop are
connected to the hub for internet. The LAN connection on the PC is showing
"limited or no connectivity" whereas the laptop is connecting to the internet
like normal. I tried repairing the LAN connection on the PC but did not solve
the problem. I also tried the "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew"
commands but it gave the following error "An error occured while renewing
interface Local Area Connection : The requested service provider couild not
be loaded or initialized".

The windows event viewer shows the following error :-

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: Dhcp
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1006
Date: 01/02/2006
Time: 11:47:49 AM
User: N/A
Computer: DESKTOP
Description:
Your computer was unable to automatically configure the IP parameters for
the Network Card with the network address 000F3D77009E. The following error
occurred during configuration: The requested service provider could not be
loaded or initialized. .

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Data:
0000: 7a 27 00 00 z'..

Please help me fix the LAN so I can connect to the internet without
re-installing windows. I will appreciate any suggestions.

Cheers
Sobhan

You need to replace the hub with an Internet broadband router. DSLconnection
may only be providing one IP address over their DHCP service. In order to
connect more than one PC to this type of DSL service, you should use a route,
which will accept the IP address from DSLconnectiions. Then, the router would
have its own DHCP service which would assign the IP addresses to the PCs
connected to the switch part of it.
