Hi Sarah,
There could be a number of causes for what you are seeing. One place to look for possible
hints as to the cause is in the computer's event log to see if it is logging any problems before
the gateway address disappears.
The most common cause is the NIC driver needs to be updated or replaced. Some third party
software that provides networking enhancements may also cause this. And there are some
compatibility issues with certain versions of NICs from manufacturers. You can do a search on
our web site or another one like google and put in the NIC make/model and you should find
any known issues others have come across.
Look for a possible common denominator on your issue, such as all are plugged into the
same switch bith others in a different switch are ok. Or look at the NIC make/model and see if
they are the same. Or check to see if there is any third party software on those machines.
The above items are most likely your issue. But one other thing to check is your DHCP scope
to be sure you have sufficient number of addresses and the leases are not too short (8 days is
the default).
