Hello,

I have a problem on one site. All my clients are XP, my servers are 2003.
On the clients i have frequently the following error:

Id: 1003 Source: Dhcp
Descr:
Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the
DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address <MAC address>. The
following error occured:
The semaphore timeout period has expired. Your computer will continue to try
and obtain an address on its own from the network address {DHCP} server.

On other sitee i have the same configuration but no errors. During a long
period of non activity, even if someone is logged on the computer loose its
mapping on the server.

Does anyone has already had this error ?

Hi Velf,

The semaphore issues are hardware problems with the router or switch. Check the
configuration or replace them.
