If restoring to a previous restore point corrects the issue then whatever
she is installing after the restore point is breaking networking. If the
problem re-occurs, try booting into Safe Mode with Networking. If Safe
Mode with Networking works, a Service is installing that runs in Normal
Mode is the problem.
