We have a server that we are putting in our dr site and I
was wondering if there is a way to copy the database from
one of our production dhcp servers. Also will this cause
problems with the other servers on the network.

Hi Chris,

Here ya go:

1- Install the DHCP server on the New or existing Win2k Machine
2- Stop the DHCP service on the New DHCP server
3- Delete the DHCP folder in the %SystemRoot%System32/DHCP of the new DHCP server
4- Copy the DHCP folder from the old DHCP server and place it in the new DHCP
server
5- Open the registry editor: Start, Run, regedt32
6- Import the DHCPcfg file from the DHCP\backup folder into
HKLM\software\Microsoft\DhcpServers\configuration
7- Copy the .mdb file from the DHCP\backup folder into the DHCP folder
8- Started the DHCP service on the new DHCP server, and reconciled the DHCP scope.

Thanks,
Gary
