Hey there, I've had this problem with a couple machines (all laptops) on my
network running WinXPsp2. When you insert usb storage media, be it a usb key
drive, a digital camera, etc. The pc will not list the device in explorer.
If you go to computer management --> disk management it does list the drive,
and if you change the drive letter from say E: to Z: the drive pops right up
in explorer and stays that way, as Z: no matter how many times you unplug and
replug the drive. BUT, if you reboot the pc, you're back to square one with
going to computer management and changing drive letters. These are both
upgrades from Win2Ksp4. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
