I can get acces to Device Manager through Computer Management but not
through System Properties.

I get a similar warning on opening Computer Management, but it then
opens and all appears to be OK.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks very much for your response. The first article fixed my problem
with Device Manager in a snap (no pun intended). The MMC problem
persists. This is the message:

Snap-in failed to initialize.
Name:Performance Logs and Alerts Extension

I also still have my Recycle Bin problem that you tried to help me
with:

Ran Error Checking several times ... including the necessary reboots,
but I still have the problem. Any other suggestions?

I have not received a follow-up response to my earlier message and am
hoping a new message will get me some suggestions. Any help is greatly
appreciated.

Thanks for the response. I did what you suggested. Tried a delete and
got the same error message. I rebooted, just in case ... and still had
the same problem.

In a snap, huh? :-)

{7478EF65-8C46-11d1-8D99-00A0C913CAD4} is the CLSID for
SysmonLogManager.Snapin Extension.1.

smlogcfg.dll is the related file.

smlogcfg.dll is the Performance Logs and Alerts Snap-in.

Try registering smlogcfg.dll.

Click Start, Run and type this command:

regsvr32 smlogcfg.dll

Instead of taking a screenshot of error messages like this, click on the
message to make sure that it has focus and hit Ctrl + C to copy the error
message to the clipboard. You can then paste the error message into
whatever.
