Device Manager question?

My DeviceManager lists some things twice.

For example under Human Interface Device it lists
"USB Human Intervice Device" two times.
Under Keyboards, it lists "HID Keyboard Device" two times.
Under DisplayDevices, "Mobile Intel(R) 945..." is listed two times.

and so on...

Does this matter? If so, should I remove one of these entries, or
remove them both and hope Windows straightens the thing out?

This is XP(HE) on a Compaq laptop.

Thanks...

Check the properties of each one; usually one is working and the other is
disabled. If so, remove the one that's disabled.

There won't always be one that's disabled, though. IME I have never had
removing one be a problem, BUT I make sure ALL the properties are identical
before I remove it.

Usually you get those from multiple installs, at least in my case.

As always, be sure your data is backed up; stuff happens all the time.

Thanks, Pop. I'll set a restore point prior to removing them.
