An external burner was installed on a Dell laptop but the
drivers did not work for it. After uninstalling the
software for the burner it kicked the original Dell Cdrom
offline. I looked up on the internet for a CDROM driver
set but could not find it. I replaced the INI file that
it uses to detect a generic cdrom as well as the driver
files that the device manager shows it uses to run the
cdrom. There is still something missing that will not let
the old cdrom work. I tried to plug in a second cdrom
into the second bay on the Dell thinking that maybe by
some chance they both went bad at the same time. No
luck. Any advice on how I can replace the CDROM set
without reinstalling the OS?
