Windows XP SP3 on Asus P4S800D E Dlx
On-board ports serial and parallel disabled in BIOS
"Show hidden devices" for device manager

Device manager shows in the group as stated in mail subject
two devices
Parallel port driver
Serial

Event viewer shows in periodic occurrences following error
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7000
Date: 07.01.2010
Time: 20:25:13
User: N/A
Computer: KRZYDU-PC01
Description:
The Parallel port driver service failed to start due to the following
error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because
it has no enabled devices associated with it.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I am not able to find in windows services manager an item "port driver
service"

Manual removal of these devices from device manager doesn't help.
They will appear here on the next occasion once again.

Why must it be so?
Any chance to get those away?
Where to search for referenced "port driver service"?

Kernel drivers are special kind of services; they do not show up in the
services manager.

If you really don't want to see these drivers, just don't enable "show
hidden devices".

Hope this helps,

Thanks for your hint.
I don't want these devices are being presented in device manager,
regardless of how the view settings are.
I don't want to receive in the event viewer error messages generated
by these two devices.
