Hey,
I got a new mp3 player lately, and when I tried to sync it with my computer
it wouldn't work. So I went to the device manager and tried to uninstall it
from my computer. This action made the Deivce manager to turn "Not
Responding". It freezes like this every single time I try to uninstall it in
the Device Manager, always the same.
What can I do? I really need to uninstall this device.
Thanks in advance.

Miranda !

When you try to uninstall the driver, i m sure there will be
some error message. Windows xp has the option of storing these error
message. See whether you can get that data and paste here.

1) Right click on "My Computer" and go to Manage
2) On the left pane you will fine "Event Viewer" click on that
3) On the right pane you should see Application , System, Security. We
are worried about Application and System.
4) First open Application, and look out for any error logs at the time
when you tried to uninstall the device. Note down the details.
5) Follow the same steps for System.
6) Paste those details here and lets see what we can do

Meanwhile, i will try to find some answers for ya. Btw what kinda Mp3
player is that ?

Hey,
Thank you so much for replaying!
I'm about to say the weirdest thing - but after following your instructions,
I found no error whatsoever! I ran thru the event viewer again and again, I
searched for my past attempts to uninstall, and nothing. The only thing that
has anything to do with it is the event 1400 "MTP WPD Driver has started
successfully.", coming up each time I connect the player.
The player I got is the Creative Zen V Plus player. I'm running Windows XP
SP2. And I continually nag Creative support crew to resolve this problem I
have with the player.
Is there anything I can do?

Miranda,
What happens with the plug and play services. ? Is it started and
automatic

Here is what I want you to do.

1) Start >> Run >> services.msc
2) in that list of services, look out for Plug and Play devices.
3) double click on that, and make sure its enabled, started and in
automatic.
4) if not, enable it or start it or make it automatic.
5) restart the computer.

Now try to uninstall the driver and see what happens. let me know if
that works.

Hey Vinod,
P&P device were enabled, started and in automatic before I even got there.
So i guess that not the problem.
Today I tried to plug my mp3 player with a new pc machine with windows XP
SP2 and WMP 11, and it worked finer than fine. On the contrary, My pc is not
brand new, and has the very very first edition of xp (when it just came out)
installed on it, of course with all the updates and the service packs and
that.
Could it be an issue with my SP?
