All of my device manager settings are set for automatic
with the check mark greyed out so that I can't manually
change resources. How do I get around this? I need to
change my game port to a normal I/O (instead of one
starting with "A" like it is now). My SBLive won't connect
a digital gamepad otherwise. I'm using Windows XP Pro and
have tried disabling acpi, changing bios settings, and
repair installing yet nothing has worked.

Hi,

You need to change to standard PC for manual assign of
IRQ. Perform a repair install of XP and when prompt to
install 3 party/raid drivers, press the F5 key (not F6
key)and select the PC mode.

Hope it helps.

Gameport drivers have/are being eliminated from XP. You will only be able
to set up the game port to use the normal drivers in XP and not the enhanced
drivers.
