I have a contact at another company I was speaking to recently and I was told
thta they were disabling devices such as cd rom, floppy drive, usb devices
etc through group policy. In addition they claim that they can specify what
web sites a user can access. I have never heard of being able to control web
site access through grou policy. Are any of these possible through gpo and
if so how?

Hi,

I don't think we can use Group policy to disable hardware. But we can limit
the users' access to disk.

Go to policy : User Configuration/ Administrativ Templates/Windows
Explorer/Prevent access to drives from My Computer

As well as we can use group policy to specify what web sites a user can
access. IE has a feature called Content Advisor.

310401 HOW TO: Use the Internet Explorer 6 Content Advisor to Control
Access to Web Sites in Internet Explorer

Thanks.
