HELP! Due to reasons to lengthy to list, I needed to
reinstall Windows XP Home Ed. Followed Gateway tech's
lead, and all seems to be running well. BUT, when I go
to download and run Windows updates, I REPEATEDLY get the
following message: "Device Installer Error: Windows
could not load the installer for volume (will also say:
keyboard, mouse, computer and hdc). Contact your
hardware vendor for assistance." Gateway was of no help,
and this ONLY happens when running updates. Anyone else
ever encounter this? More importantly, is it a real
problem, and what do I do to fix it?
