2 IDE disk drives had been working perfectly since install for several years.
One is OEM DVD, the other is after-market CDRW. Device manager returns
message 41: device driver successfully loaded but cannot find hardware
device.

Opened PC and confirmed connections. Used device manager to uninstall
drivers and hardware wizard to attempt reinstall. Hardware wizard returns
same message 41. Apparently the PC can see the hardware, reinstall the right
drivers - but can't find the device.
