So I have an internal Wi-Fi card and I need to remove it
and load the correct software. When I go into device
driver and remove the device, it is automatically re-
installing the software that it had on the system. How
do I get it to stop installing software for it
automatically? I need to add a different driver, and the
Update Driver button is not working. Any thoughts?

reboot into the safe mode and install from there.

also remove the device in the device manager before rebooting into the safe
mode.

If the WI-FI card is in the computer when it is rebooted, Window XP Plug and
Play will re-install the drivers each time Windows XP is rebooted. Follow
the previous suggestions.
