I am running Windows 2000 on my workstation and all of a
sudden windows can see my d:\drive (CD reader) and e:\ (my
CD burner) but when I put in a CD I get the
message "Please insert a disk into drive d (or e). It
doesn't see the media. Any suggestions?
(E-Mail Removed)

Thanks much. Will appreciate all the help I can get.
Can't even reinstall Windows since it cannot read either
drive!

I have the same problem in the message "un-recognizable
CD" I have been running well until just recently when
trying to get program cd's to load. I have no answer.

I've had the same problem, posted it to this newsgroup and got no
solution. The only thing that helped me was a repair install via boot
diskettes. Under those circumstances, booting from floppy, the CD was
accessible.
