Determine if OLE server is done

I have a form on which there is a control that is bound to
an OLE Object. This control is normal not visible. In
order to create or edit the control, it must be visible,
so I do that in my VBA code before the OLE server (in this
case Word) is activated. What I'd like to do is reset the
control to be not visible after editing the object in Word
(because you can't set the control to be not visible if it
has the focus). I just can't find a way to determine
whether or not Word has been closed so that I could then
move the focus off my control and set its visible property
to false.
