I want to find out the size of a directory on a disk, how much space is
being used by the contents of the direcory. How can I do that? I've
clicked on the directory name (M and am looking at "Details" with "size"
as one of the options but that column is empty except for a couple of
genuine files, rather than the folders or directories.

XP Pro, SP2

Thank you very much in advance.

Mike

look at the folder's Properties page, that'll tell ya it's size.

there are also a couple of add-ons out there that will give you a "folder
size" column that you can choose to display, then it'll be there right in
front of you every time. Note they are background services that do use up
some cpu time, but if you want that feature then you will have to pay the
price; on multicore it's virtually unnoticable.

google for Folder Size.

fwiw, I like: http://foldersize.sourceforge.net/
