How does one get FP2003 to autodetect the country the user is in?

Is it possible to put a message on my index page that changes depending upon
the user's country. Something like:

Our UK office is located at xxxx.
Out office in France is located at yyyy.

You can't detect the country. There is no way to know.
A user's IP address doesn't even have to be in the same country they are
actually in.

You can use the language of the browser to guess at the country. en-us is
United States, en-uk is the United Kingdom. Language begins with fr for
French, etc. This is not extremely accurate, as the user may not have the
language set correctly for his country. There is no facility in FrontPage to
do this automatically.

Getting deeper, you can use IP address (and with IE some additional pieces
of information) to better determine where the user is located. There is no
automatic facility in FrontPage for this either.

One of the hard parts of this issue is the nature of anonymous browsing. In
many ways, it might be better to let the user tell you where he is and show
him the closest office.

Jane,

About the best you can do is extract the language setting on
the client machine, and use an appropriate language for it.
You may be able to track don an IP to where the service
provider is, but people can use their ISP in other parts of
the world- I can use a dialup connection on my laptop over
in Saudi and have it dial back to Wisconsin

source.

You host would have to have install following or a similar application. This has nothing to do with
FP.

The language won't be much help because people travel. The easiest would be
to do it like they do downtown. Have the reader pick his location from a
list.
