How to detect appointment preview window (reading pane)

I need to detect if the appointment preview window is visible or not. I've
looked through the outlook window hierarchy but see nothing to use to
identify the window. E.g. caption = "Appointment Preview Window". Anyone
done this before?

Got it. just used the object model and commandbars
