DetailsView bound field issue

I have a DetailsView on one of my site's pages that is mis-interpreting a
bit field as a text field. On all of the other page's in my site, the
DetailsViews show this field as a checkbox but as a textbox on this one
particular DetailsView. I'm using the same SelectMethod on this page as on
other pages. Why would it behave this way and is there a way I can change it
to a checkbox without converting the field to a template field?
