Details View - default setting

Whenever I open up My Computer and rill down to look at file folders and file
> lists, it always displays uin the "Icon" view. Is there any way to default
> this so that it will always open up with the "Details" view???

I've tried Open My Computer > Set the File View to Details > Hold down the
Ctrl key then
click on the Close button (red X on the top right of the window). It didn't
work
