Since I've obtained my Acer Netbook with XP, I'm re-learning XP's
functionality, probably with more technical interest than when I first used
XP. So, here's another question. When I use Windows Explorer to view
folders (directories) the default is to display Icons. I invariably change
the view to details. Can I make Details the default view for every folder I
open? TIA, Paul

=================================
Open a folder and go to...View / Details...

Then...Tools / Folder Options / View tab...

Left click the 'Apply to all folders' button / Yes / OK.

In Explorer click once on a directory/folder you have set to Details view.
On the menu bar click Tools > Folder Options....
In Folder Options click the View tab.
In the Folder Views section click "Apply to All Folders".
Click Apply > Ok.

You might also like this:

This is the only free program to modify the Open/Save
Dialog window. (And the only one to do it correctly)

"FileOpenPatcher enlarges the Windows Open File dialog and
sets Details view as default."
