Ok, I have searched the internet and posted in a few different newsgroups.
I am looking for the registry values that set the default explorer view to
detail for all folders. Is there a help center in Microsoft I could call?
even if it pays how would I go about this? there must be an answer
somewhere.

1. Close all open Explorer/My Computer windows.
2. Open Explorer or My Computer.
3. Navigate to any subfolder on any drive.
4. Click View/Details
5. Click Tools/Folder Options/View and select "Like
Current Folder". ALSO UNCHECK the option on that
same option screen, "Remember each folder's view settings".
6. Close the open Explorer/My Computer window.

That should do it. Step 3 is the one many people get hung
up on -- if you do the remainder of this procedure while
sitting at the root folder of a drive, it won't work.

Explorer|View|Details Then Explorer|Tools|Folder Options|View, then "Like
Current Folder". Depending on your likings, you may also need to check
"Remember each folder's view settings"

Then use http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/regmon.shtml
to monitor activity somewhere in;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Hi,
did you find any answer on how to do it in the registry? Or programmatically?
