Hi,

I have spent countless hours trying to find an answer for this problem but
to no avail, I am desperate for the answer!!

I use XP Home edition with Outlook 2003 as my default mail programme. If I
right click a jpeg picture I get the normal send to/mail recipient menu up,
if I proceed then I get the picture option size window, after OK'ing this it
should open Outlook with the reduced picture attached, however mine is NOT
opening Outlook .

As a point of interest if I make Outlook express my default mail programme
then it all works correctly, however I do want to retain Outlook as my
default mail programme.

I can confirm that Outlook is selected as my default mail programme, but for
some reason it doesn't seem as if Windows is seeing it that way!!!??

All this works ok on another computer I have but on my laptop with basically
the same programme set up it doesn't function?

I would be so grateful if someone could solve this year old mystery for me!!

First...try running the following command:

go to...Start / Run and type
(or copy/paste):

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"

I know you said Outlook is your default e-mail
client but to verify...try the steps in the following
article:

The following article is for Outlook2002 but I
wonder if the instructions on setting it as the
default e-mail client would offer any new info:

Outlook Express to Outlook 2002

Just wondering...have you tried uninstalling/
reinstalling Outlook 2003?

Hi John,

Thanks for that info, I will work through the suggestions and let you know
how it goes, once again very many thanks for your kind input.

We too had the same problem, have just posted a new post starting Solution to
emailing. After trawling though page by page we found the answer on page 35
- Ramesh's suggestion worked for us. He is a genius. So check out page 35
and let us know if this worked for you too.

We had the same problem and tried all suggestions. However after trawling
through all the pages, we found our solution on page 35, Ramesh's suggestion
worked for us.

Hi Tony,

Very many thanks for your input, however I can't find the thread( new post)
" Solution to EMailing" that you mention.I have seen some references to the
problem on page 35 of this section but they are referring to Outlook Express
and not Outlook, the latter is where my problem is. Can you point me in the
right direction please?
